Poesis Magazine Logo Design

This logo is for Poesis Magazine, a diy online/print creative arts zine and personal project of the designer. "Poesis" is taken from Plato's Republic, wherein the author discusses the potency of the arts and their power to change worldviews, (particularly in the realm of politics). The zine admires anything emitting a strange, witty, insightful, or emotive perspective.

"Don't just think of us as an arts magazine - we are more. We are the Poesque sparks that threaten to change, or at least inform, your worldview." The zine would feature writing, art, music reviews, interviews, etc.

This design was constructed in Adobe Illustrator, CS3 and aims to effectively represent the mission statement and brand of Poesis. It is a design that is experimental in feel and look, and yet can be applied to more "traditional" forms of media.
