RedneckCommunity.com is a social networking website that was created in order to attract other people in the redneck community who consider themselves to be “rednecks.” Within this particular redneck social networking community, fellow rednecks are encouraged to sign up to become members. After members are signed up, they can go to the landing page for the web site and log in. Within the site, members can submit videos, photos as well as create redneck social networking events. Since marketing began for this website, the client has been contacted by celebrity talk show host, Jerry Springer, about the possibility of being interviewed for his show! Regarding the goals that the client had for this website, we collaborated with the client in order to come up with a social network web design that would capture the essence of what it meant to be a “redneck.” In order to accomplish this, we allow members to upload pictures, videos as well as jokes to help market the client's web content and help drive traffic. The layout of the current website landing page is easy to navigate and read. Users can choose to listen to audio while they browse the site, and use a search option to find specific content. If users are on the fence about whether or not to join the site, there is also a block at the bottom of the landing page that displays the current number of members in the virtual redneck community.
